(Hong
Kong - 27 December 2006) - Solomon Systech
(International) Limited ("Solomon Systech" or
"the Group"; SEHK: 2878) announced that its
CSTN LCD driver controller IC (Model: SSD1772) has won
the Best Market Performance Award in the inaugural China
Chip Awards.
The
2006
China Chip Awards was organized by the Software and
Integrated Circuit Promotion Center of the Ministry of
Information Industry with support from the Ministry's
Department of Electronic Product Administration and
various IC corporations. The objective of the Awards is
to encourage communication and cooperation among players
in the IC chip production chain, and honour Chinese IC
chip enterprises that possess intellectual
right-protected IC chips boasting substantial market
shares. It aspires to become a communication platform
for IC design companies and technology enterprises.
Entries are judged mainly on their level of innovation,
and market and user acceptance by a panel of industry
experts in Mainland China.
Solomon
Systech shipped 100 million units of the award winning
IC SSD1772, worth a total of US$150 million since its
first shipment started in 4th quarter of 2004. The
performance was excellent.
