(Hong Kong - October 24, 2007) - Upon continuous enhancements in display driver IC technology, Solomon Systech is proud to launch today a new single chip TFT LCD driver -SSD2220 - for mobile display applications. This driver supports TFT LCD with 240x432 (wQVGA) resolutions and it will be one of the most popular resolution options in 2008 mobile phone and Portable Media Player (PMP) applications.

Mr. Danny Yip, Marketing Director of Solomon Systech Limited said, "The mobile phone and PMP applications are ramping up this year, especially in China where the handset market is expected to reach 170 million units in 2007. Meanwhile, the display resolution is getting larger from QCIF+ and QVGA, to wQVGA in 2008. Most of the major panel makers from Korea and Taiwan are preparing for this revolution in resolution change and launching wQVGA panels on 2.6", 2.8" and 3.0" at the end of 2007. The SSD2220 is launched with over ten panel sources of support in order to ensure the panel supply and capture the 2008 growth in this resolution."

The SSD2220 is a perfect single chip driver IC in the market. It carries unique features such as multi-time programming (MTP) for voltage calibration, separated RGB gamma correction to optimize display performance, and charge sharing technology for power consumption improvement. The SSD2220 is the only IC offering these distinct, value-added features in today's market. It also provides a true 262K color with 64 levels of middle voltages for grayscale generation. This ensures a true 262K colorful display performance.
