Solomon Systech Showcases a Full Range of Display ICs for Smart Mobile Devices at SID Display Week 2014

(Hong Kong – 26 May, 2014) Solomon Systech Limited (“Solomon Systech”) will be exhibiting at The Society for Information Display (SID)’s Display Week to be held at San Diego Convention Centre, US, from 3-5 June, 2014.

Solomon Systech will be showcasing at its booth (No. 1130) its comprehensive range of advanced display solutions tailored for high-growth smart mobile devices, in particular smart watches, wearable health-and-fitness devices, Electronic Shelf Labels, smartphones and tablets. Highlights of the new solutions on display include:

  • PMOLED Display Driver ICs for Super High Brightness Character Display Panelswith built-in character ROMs and ICON display feature, the new series of PMOLED driver ICs support super high brightness OLED displays for both indoor and outdoor applications. These are the ideal solutions for the new era of Character OLED displays.
  •  High-Definition TFT LCD Driver Controller IC for Metal Oxide Display Panels – helps reducing production costs of high resolution display panels and also the average display power consumption by as much as 25% to extend battery operation time. It also supports a wide range of resolutions (up to 350ppi) and panel sizes, enables display of vivid images and narrow bezel design to maximize screen display area, matching perfectly with the current trend of smartphone design.
  •  MIPI High Speed Transmitter for Up to WQXGA Display Panelshave a 27.6Mbit integrated frame buffer to support up to WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution for smartphone and tablet applications, as well as Panel Self Refresh (PSR), Image Rotation and Scaler features. The graphic controllers support MIPI-DSI Rx at up to 1.5Gbps/lane for 4 lanes; and up to 8-lane MIPI-DSI Tx at 1.0 Gbps/lane.
  •  Highly integrated Single-Chip Multi-touch Solutionssupport Full HD capacitive touch panels of up to 13.6” and the latest single layer, multi-touch sensor technologies. The solutions enable fast and easily configurable tuning with adjustable frame rates and sensitivity levels. Moreover, with effective noise guard functions embedded, isolation against display noise, RF noise, power noise and raindrop is achieved. Apart from capacitive touch panels like GG, GFF and OGS, Solomon Systech also provides touch panel controllers supporting new On-cell touch and In-cell touch technologies.

In addition to the above, Solomon Systech will display its latest bistable display driver controllers, graphic controllers and multimedia processors.

As a premier provider of display and touch IC solutions supporting various human interface technologies, apart from displaying its latest IC solutions, Solomon Systech’s Dr. Stephen Chan will be presenting on “Human Interface Technologies for Smart Devices” at the Exhibitors’ Forum (4 June / 4:30pm / Exhibit Hall).
