Official Opening of Solomon Systech (China) Limited (“Nanjing Technology Center”)

An Important Milestone for Future Expansion in China

(Hong Kong – 10 Nov, 2017) Solomon Systech Limited (“Solomon Systech”), a key semiconductor company under Huada Semiconductors Co. Ltd.* specializing in the design, development and sales of proprietary display IC products and system solutions, is pleased to announce that Solomon Systech (China) Limited is officially opened at the Nanjing Jiangbei New District (南京江北新區).

An opening ceremony was held at the Nanjing Jiangbei New District on 10 November. Chen Xu, deputy general manager of China Electronics Corporation (“CEC”) and chairman of Huada Semiconductors; Luo Qun, Nanjing Municipal Standing Committee member and deputy secretary for special duties, Jiangbei New District Management Party Committee; Xu Guofei, chairman of CEC Panda Group, Chen Zhongguo, chairman of Caihong Optoelectronics Technology; together with Li Rongxin and Archie Yeh, Chairman and CEO of Solomon Systech respectively, officiated at the ceremony. The senior management of a number of key business partners of Solomon Systech also attended the ceremony.

Chen Xu, deputy general manager of CEC and chairman of Huada Semiconductors remarked,” IC is the most important part of the 13th Five-Year Plan of China’s electronics industry. Setting up Solomon Systech (China) Limited in Nanjing is upon having fully considered and in response to    the key plan of the Nanjing Municipal Government and Jiangbei New District for IC industry. CEC will be in full support of the close collaboration between Solomon Systech and CEC’s panel business, and also the synergies between our industries and Nanjing. We shall strive to collaborate with Nanjing to build a world-class New Display industry chain, with a view to enhancing the country’s overall competitiveness in the New Display industry! ”

Luo Qun, Nanjing Municipal Standing Committee member and deputy secretary for special duties, Jiangbei New District Management Party Committee said, “IC industry is an national emerging industry of strategic importance, and also a billions of dollar worth industry that Jiangbei New District is focusing on building. Many well-known enterprises, such as TSMC, Tsinghua Unisplendour, Foxconn, etc., have been set up in the new district, enjoying first-mover advantage of agglomeration. China Electronics Corporation is the “national team” for the development of IC industry in China, and also an important strategic partner for the development of the Jiangbei New District. The successful cooperation between Solomon Systech and the New District in setting up China’s headquarters for R&D inside the Nanjing Software Park will surely further drives the rapid expansion of IC industry and its chain industries in Jiangbei New District. Jiangbei New District will endeavor to support the development of the enterprises.”

Li Rongxin, deputy general manager of Huada Semiconductors and Chairman of Solomon Systech said. “The establishment of the Solomon Systech (China) Limited further enhances our presence and visibility, strengthens our relationships with key customers, and also boosts our overall technology capability to foster innovation. After the ceremony, all the guests, accompanied by Li Rongxin and Archie Ye, Chairman and CEO of Solomon Systech respectively, toured around the newly furnished Solomon Systech (China) Limited. Occupying two floors with an internal staircase to facilitate internal communication, the company has a trendy and modern design, with environmental protection as it theme. It could hold up to 200 employees, with a spacious, well-equipped R&D lab. It has full-fledged capability from business development and marketing, IC design, research and product development, to providing on-site support including application design, software design, quality control and logistic services to local and transnational customers.

With the establishment of Solomon Systech (China) Limited (or Nanjing Technology Center), Solomon Systech will have a total of 5 technology centers globally, i.e. Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nanjing, UK and Korea.
