Solomon Systech’s LCD Display Driver SSD2075 for HD a-Si Panels

Named 2012 Hottest Controller/ Driver IC

(Hong Kong – 7 Sept, 2012) Solomon Systech Limited (“Solomon Systech”) is pleased to announce that its TFT LCD Driver Controller SSD2075 has won the “2012 China IC Design House Award – Hottest Controller/ Driver ICs” conferred by Electronic Engineering Times (EE Times) China at the China Fabless CEO Forum cum Award Presentation ceremony held on 7 September, 2012 in Shenzhen Marco Polo Hotel.

SSD2075 is the latest liquid crystal display driver launched by Solomon Systech for driving high definition (HD) amorphous silicon (a-Si) panels by gate-in-panel (GIP) technology. It is the ideal solution for smartphone applications. Unlike most of the HD720 (720RGB x 1280) solutions in the market which are LTPS and the system cost is relatively high, SSD2075 supports a-Si panels and the system cost is highly competitive. By adopting SSD2075 to a 4.5” a-Si panel, the display module will be 326ppi which is the best solution in the smartphone mass market. SSD2075 supports a wide range of resolutions and panels, catering to the various needs of customers.

SSD2075 also has excellent display enhancement functions, including color (saturation) enhancement, color correction, facial detection and display enhancement engine to achieve the excellent display quality of a-Si silicon technology. Moreover, SSD2075 has the Content Adaptive Brightness Control function that lowers the backlight power by 60 percent on average; and it adopts MIPI DSI to achieve high speed data transfer with the lowest power consumption.

“We are proud and delighted to receive this award. It is a recognition of our team’s effort in bringing innovative and cost-effective solutions to the smartphone market. Our team is committed to continually raising the bar of our innovation and product performance
to always go above and beyond our clients’ expectations and address different needs in the market,” said WM Lo, Vice President of Business Operations, Solomon Systech Limited at the award presentation ceremony.

“2012 China IC Design House Awards – Hottest ICs” of EE Times China is one of the most recognized awards in the IC industry in China. The objective of the Award is to honor IC design companies that demonstrate excellent designs with professional technical support. The entries for the annual Hottest IC Awards, covering five segments – Controller/Driver ICs, Power ICs, Wireless ICs, Processor and Amplifier/Converter, are products launched within the period from January 2011 till June 2012.
