SSD1266 is an all in one display driver that integrated the power circuits, source driver and gate driver into a single chip. SSD1266 can drive a 262K color a-TFT panel with resolution 240 RGB sources x 320 gates.

It also integrated the controller function and consists of 172,800 bytes (240 x 320 x 18 / 8) Graphic Display Data RAM (GDDRAM) such that it interfaced with common MPU through 8/9/16/18-bits 6800 or 8080-series compatible parallel Interface or serial peripheral interface and stored the data in the GDDRAM. Auxiliary 18-/16 bit video interface (VSYNC, HSYNC, and DOTCLK) are integrated into SSD1266 for animation image display.

SSD1266 embeds a high efficient DC-DC Converter and a Voltage Regulator to generate all necessary voltage level to the a-TFT panel with minimum external components required. The SSD1266 provides an 8-color power saving mode to reduce the energy consumption in portable devices. The sources and gate scan direction can be controlled by software command. An Integrated Gamma Control Circuit is also included that can be selected from 4 preset gamma curves to provide flexibility and optimal display quality.
