2001 Motorola PCS Supplier TFE Showcase

A Recognition for Outstanding Performance in Teaming for Excellence

Hong Kong, China – 22 March, 2002 – Solomon Systech Limited (SSL) won the Silver Award in the Motorola PCS Supplier TFE Showcase today in Tianjin. Representing more than 170 China direct suppliers to Motorola PCS (Personal Communications Sector) Tianjin, there were totally 15 teams from all over the country to participate in the showcase competing for one gold award and 2 silver awards. The awards were presented by Mr. Ji Guo Ping, Director, Division of Basic Production, Department of Electronic Information Product Management, Ministry of Information Industry, PRC. It was the 6th successive year that Motorola PCS China has been holding similar kind of events.

About Motorola PCS Supplier TFE Showcase - TFE is the acronym from Team For Excellence, aiming at team problem solving and solution implementation towards stakeholder satisfaction and business performance. It is part of the Motorola culture. Motorola encourages different departments and different professionals from production and business operations to form problem-solving team to enhance quality, reduce cost and improve management. The TFE has been implemented in Motorola for more than 10 years and is proven to be effective. In this year’s Supplier TFE Showcase, each supplier shared their experience and result achieved in 2001 in cost saving, shortening production leadtime and continuous quality improvement. VIP and judges includes Mr. Yan Zhi, Minister of Consultant Department, TEDA, TJ, Mr. M.S. Gay, Director of Manufacturing, GM Tianjin Operations, PCS, Motorola and Mr. Sohan Singh, Director of Quality, Personal Communication Sector, PRC, Motorola. While the 15 representing teams were from Motorola’s overseas suppliers which had companies setup in China for manufacturing, some Motorola joint venture corporations and also big China local enterprises.

Within only two years Solomon Systech Limited has established its products and its brand name around the world and has become a major IC supplier in the global market for cellular phones.Being the award winner, Mr. Humphrey Leung, President and Managing Director of Solomon Systech Limited says, “We are proud to be one of the winners in the TFE showcase.
