Kong, China ˇV Nov 19, 2001 ˇV It is officially announced
at a ceremony today that Solomon Systech Limited
wins the 2001
Hong Kong Award for Industry: Export Marketing, 2001 HKSTP
Technological Achievement Award, 2001 Trade and
Industry Department Quality Award and 2001 HKPC
Certificate of Merit in Productivity. The awards are
officiated by the honourable Tung Chee Hwa, Chief Executive,
Government of the HKSAR.
Established
in 1989, the Hong Kong Awards for Industry is an annual
Awards Scheme to recognise and encourage excellence as well
as to promote successful practices and strategies in
differentaspects of
industrial performance.
To reflect the prestige of the Awards scheme, only
one Hong Kong Award for Industry is presented in each
category every year.
Within
only two
years Solomon Systech Limited has established its products
and its brand name around the world and has become a major
IC supplier in the global market for cellular phones.
Being the award winner, Mr. Humphrey Leung, President
and Managing Director of Solomon Systech Limited says,

nine months after Solomon Systech
was
established, it was awarded ISO 9001 certification by the
British Standard Institute for its design, development and
sales of semiconductor IC products and systems. On 2nd
November 2001, Mr. Humphrey Leung had the honor to receive
the Young Industrialist Awards of Hongkong 2001 for his
achievement and commitment to the industry.
The company was also awarded the 2001 Hong Kong New
SME Gold Award as a success model to spearhead Hong Kongˇ¦s
continued growth and competitiveness.

Hong Kong Awards for Industry is an annual Awards Scheme
established in 1989 to recognise and encourage excellence as
well as to promote successful practices and strategies in
different aspects of industrial performance.

annual scheme has totally seven categories, with overall
coordination provided by the Organising Committee of the
Hong Kong Awards for Industry. The Committee is chaired by
the Director-General of Trade and Industry, with its
membership drawn from a range of industrial support
organisations in Hong Kong.
The final judging process in each award category is
carried out by a Judging Panel whose members are selected
for their professional expertise in the relevant area of
industrial performance.
The
Hong Kong Award for Industry is presented to the most
outstanding entry in each award category. To reflect the
prestige of the Awards scheme, only one Hong Kong Award for
Industry is presented in each category every year.
