(Hong
Kong - 10 June 2007) - Winners of the multi-media
creativity competition under WWF's Ocean's 10 campaign
received today prizes for their entries aiming to raise
pubic awareness of the importance and urgency in protect
marine life in local waters in Hong Kong. The marine
life conservation campaign is sponsored by leading flat
panel display IC company Solomon Systech (International)
Limited ("Solomon Systech" or the
"Group", SEHK: 2878).
The
Ocean's 10 multi-media creativity competition was
launched in January this year inviting
"visual" gift to the 10 marine species
featured in the campaign. The competition, divided into
digital image and short video sections, were open to
secondary and post-secondary students and members of the
public. The winning works, which stood out among a total
of 200 entries, were selected based on three criteria,
namely theme matching ability, creativity and artistic
quality.
The
winners of the Digital Image Section are Ng Fei Lung
(Open), Sun Chi Fai (Post Secondary) and Tong Tee Tak
Judy (Secondary), and the top titles of the Short Video
Section went to Lam Sheung Ting (Open), Chiu Yip Shing,
Chan Wai Sing (Post Secondary) and Kwok Ka Ling, Hsu
Ching Ho (Secondary).
Mr.
Percy Lam, President of Solomon Systech Limited, said,
"This multi-media creativity competition is a key

environmental protection always at heart and shares the
vision of WWF in raising awareness of the community on
wildlife. That is the drive behind our decision to
support the Ocean's 10 campaign and also why we are so
pleased with the winning works of the multi-media
creativity competition and confident of their
contribution to drawing public attention on to
environmental protection."
The
winning entries are on display at Whampao Fashion World
now until 11 June 2007. They will be relocated and shown
at Olympian City II North Atrium on 16 and 17 June 2007
to let more people learn about marine conservation
issues.
WWF
kicked off the Ocean's 10 program in 2005 featuring 10
marine species found in Hong Kong waters to raise public
awareness on the marine environment. Solomon Systech is
the title sponsor of the campaign. The "Ocean's
10" marine species are Brain Coral, Chinese Bahaba,
the Chinese White Dolphin, the Green Turtle, the Hong
Kong Grouper, Horseshoe Crab, Mudskipper, Sea Grass, the
Purple Sea Urchin and the Yellow Croaker. Their
information and unique stories including their biology,
fun facts, threats and conservation status can be found
on the newly launched Ocean's 10 website at www.wwf.org.hk/oceans10.
