We
are pleased to announce that Solomon Systech has
achieved full compliance for all its products with the
European Union (EU) "Restriction of Hazardous
Substances (RoHS) Directive (2002/95/EC)"
requirements for the protection and sustaining of the
"Green" Environment on 1 October 2005.
As
a socially responsible global IC supplier, Solomon
Systech is fully committed to deliver environmental
friendly products to customers. Solomon Systech has been
working with suppliers to ensure our products will
protect the environment and meet EU's latest legal
requirements. European Union (EU) proposed the
Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive
(2002/95/EC) on 27 January 2003 and to be implemented on
1 July 2006. Complementary to the Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive (2002/96/EC), it
aims to protect human health and the environment by
restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in
new electrical and electronic equipment. It bans the use
of six different materials (lead, cadmium, mercury,
hexavalent chromium and two flame retardants, namely
polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated
diphenyl ethers (PBDE)) in all new products introduced
to the market after 1 July 2006. The Group guarantees
all its products produced from 1 October 2005 onwards to
meet the requirement, well ahead of EU's schedule.
All
our products have been tested by accredited laboratories
in compliance with the EU RoHS Directive, 2002/95/EC.
These products include packaged ICs in forms of COG,
TAB, COF w/ SMD, COF w/o SMD, QFP, QFN, BGA, SOT, Solder Bump
Die and Bare Die.
All
of Solomon Systech's suppliers are also required to
declare the fulfillment of RoHS compliance and/or
products shipped to Solomon Systech are tested with
conformance results. To sustain the conformance, Solomon
Systech has imposed procedures to include RoHS
requirements in material change control & audits,
and requests suppliers to provide regular re-test
reports.s
As
a long-term commitment, Solomon Systech shall continue
its effort in participating and promoting the Green
movement in the industry.

products |
|
Currently,
the requirement of meeting the Global Environmental
Standard has been receiving increasing attention
within the semiconductor industry. Solomon Systech
has Pb-Free product packaging available to meet with
our customers' environmental concerns regarding the
content of hazardous materials in semiconductors.
Our goal is to create ICs that are easy to recycle,
conserve resources and contain only benign
materials. The 6 elements: Lead(Pb), Cadmium(Cd),
Mercury(Hg), Hexavalent chromium(Hex-Cr),
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), Polybrominated
diphenyl ethers(PBDEs), have been absolutely
excluded in our RoHS compliment ICs. For further
information regarding Solomon Systech's Pb-Free ICs,
